A man facing the death penalty for the shooting death of 30 Brittany Gauch and shooting and injuring Aaron Gauch and a Monroe City Police Officer in January of 2016 was found dead in his cell at the Marion County Jail last night. [Thursday]

37 year old Timothy Brokes Jr. was discovered in his cell at 8:46 PM. According to Marion County Sheriff, Jimmy Shinn, Brokes had hung himself with a bed sheet.

When correction officers discovered Brokes, they immediately attempted CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the jail.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
