A second inmate that was being held at the Marion County Jail is dead after an attempted suicide last week.
According to the Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Shinn, 50 year old Charles Whitley of Hannibal died at Blessing Hospital after being found unresponsive in his jail cell on Tuesday, May 15th.
Whitely’s death is the second suicide at the Marion County Jail within a 48 hour period.
The body of Timothy Brokes Jr. was found on Thursday, May 17th.
