A six year old girl is recovering from injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Jefferson City last (Friday) night.
According to Jefferson City Police it happened in the 600 block of Delaware Street around 6:15.
Police say 51 year old Stanley Alford was going northbound in his 2006 Ford F250 and was unable to stop and hit the girl on the bike when she entered the street without looking.
Officers say the girl was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and was taken to the University Medical Center in Columbia for treatment of her injuries.
