Missouri Will Not Pay Greiten’s Attorney Fees

The state of Missouri is denying payment to the private attorneys who represented former Governor Eric Greitens during his potential impeachment proceedings.

Office of Administration Commissioner Sarah Steelman said yesterday (Thursday) it appears the primary beneficiary of the lawyers’ work was Greitens individually and the attorneys were not needed for the governor’s office itself.

Attorneys from a law firm in Kansas City submitted $118,067 of invoices, while a Connecticut based law firm billed $64.097 in invoices to the state saying they were hired by Greitens to represent the governor’s office in its official capacity.
