Cole County EMS Chief Leaving in July

The Cole County Emergency Medical Services Chief will be resigning on July 6th.

Jerry Johnston sent a letter of resignation to the Cole County Emergency Medical Services Employees saying that he informed the commission of his decision last week.

In the resignation letter Johnston states that the decision was his alone and he was not forced out or asked to resign.

The resignation comes after reports of staffing issues and an increased in paid overtime use by employees.
