Fatal Car Accident in Miller County

A 76 year old West Virginia man is dead after a fatal accident in Miller County yesterday (Monday) afternoon.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol it happened around 2pm on Highway 17, 600 feet north of Saline Road.

A Semi crossed the center line and was hit by a vehicle causing the load it was carrying to become unsecured.

Logs began falling onto the roadway, striking several vehicles.

76 year old Alford Franklin, of Harrison, West Virginia was driving when the logs hit his vehicle causing him off the road, where he hit a tree and a fence.

Franklin was pronounced dead by the Miller County Coroner.
