No More Cell Phones In Centralia Schools

Students in Centralia Schools will not be allowed to bring cell phones to school starting this year.

The board of education recently unanimously voted to prohibit cell phone use during school at its latest board meeting.

According to reports from the Centralia Fireside Guard High School Principal Matt Smith says 70 percent of his buildings discipline issues came from cell phone use.

The Chester Boren Middle School Principal Nathan Gordon says the phones are used educationally however 90 percent of it is not.

The new policy is printed in the handbooks approved by the board for the upcoming school year.
