Bevier Officer Involved Shooting

A Macon County Deputy was involved in an officer involved shooting in Bevier just before 4:00 this morning.

According to the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, the unidentified deputy conducted a traffic stop when a male passenger exited the truck and pointed a rifle at the deputy. The deputy then fired upon the man, striking him at least twice.

The suspect and the driver the truck exited and was secured until more deputies arrived on scene. Emergency Medical Crews arrived soon after and transported the suspect to a hospital in Columbia.

The deputy was not injured.

The Macon County Sheriff’s Office has asked the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control to handle the investigation.
