Columbia Police Work To Improve Safety Downtown

The Columbia Police Department is working alongside community partners to ensure the safety of the downtown area.

With the return of college students and increasing crowds, COD is adding more resources to ensure everyone has a safe experience.

More officers will be assigned to downtown to enforce parking ordinances on private properties, ensuring open sidewalks, adding additional variable intensity lighting and using existing video surveillance.
