Winners of Hay Lottery in Missouri Announced

Seventeen farmers in Missouri are the winners of a hay lottery started by Governor Mike Parson last week to provide some relief for the drought.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources made the announcement yesterday (Monday) and said they had more than 400 entries into the lottery for a random drawing.

The farmers who won the lottery get the hay free of charge from 900 acres of Missouri State Parks land.

According to the most recent drought monitor, eighty eight percent of Missouri is being affected by the drought.
