Columbia City Employees May Be Getting Raise

Employees with the city of Columbia may soon be getting a pay raise.

The Columbia City Council is looking at several different ways to give raises for city worker, including setting the new minimum wage to fifteen dollars per hour and giving a forty five cent an hour raise to every employee.

The potential raises would be in put into next year’s budget and comes after employees with several departments, told council members about poor working conditions and lagging pay.

The council will make a final decision on the raises at the September 17th meeting.
