Gun Found In Back Pack At Mexico School

Parents of students in the Mexico School District received a call today [Wednesday] that a gun had been brought into Mexico Middle School.

Superintendent Dr. Zach Templeton said staff at the school as well as the School Resource Officer acted quickly after finding the gun in a backpack, and are working with law enforcement.

Major Brice Mesko with Mexico Public Safety says they are working diligently to gather accurate information, and it is an open investigation, and because of that not much information can be given at this time. Mesko said there were no threats and no injuries in the incident.
