Columbia Police Urge Caution When Meeting Strangers For Buying or Selling Items

Columbia Police are urging folks to use caution when buying or selling items online and meeting someone in person after two people were robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday in different locations.

Both of the victims were selling gaming systems, and were robbed of cash and a cell phone.

Police don’t know if the incidents are related.

Community members are being reminded they can use the lobby of the Columbia police station which is open 24 hours a day at the corner of Sixth and Walnut when meeting strangers for buying and selling items.
