Winter Storms Causes School Closings and Hazardous Road Conditions in Mid Missouri

More than two dozen area schools are closed today (Monday) due to the blizzard like conditions that hit Central Missouri last (Monday) night.

Snow fell hard in the listening area, and was pushed by heavy wind gusts which obstructed visibility.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports between 3-5 yesterday (Sunday) troopers responded to 113 weather-related calls for service, 25 crashes, and 50 slide-offs.

A blizzard warning was in effect in many counties and then replaced with a winter weather advisory.

Audrain county has a winter weather advisory that will expired at 6 this (Monday) morning.
