Third Public Forum On SSM/MU Health In Jefferson City Tonight
The last of three scheduled public forums with MU Health care and SSM Health will take place tonight (Monday) in Jefferson City.
Two forums held last week in Jefferson City where over 100 people reported to be in attendance and a second forum in Mexico where over 240 people gathered to ask questions about the merger.
Some Jefferson city community members have been voicing concerns about higher health care costs, and losing jobs and a possible health care monopoly if the merger goes through.
Audrain county supporters say the buyout will secure health care services for patients in multiple surrounding counties including Audrain, Callaway, Montgomery and Ralls.
Tonight’s (Monday) forum will be held at the Missouri Special Olympics Training for Life Campus 5:30 pm until 7.
