Government Shutdown Impacts Employees At Columbia Regional Airport
The partial government shutdown is impacting workers at the Columbia Regional Airport.
According to the Associated Press Transportation Security Administration workers at the Columbia Regional Airport have been working without pay since the partial shutdown on December 22nd.
A total of one hundred fifty thousand employees from the Coast Guard, TSA, Customs and Border Protection nationwide remain working despite not being paid.
This is the third partial government shutdown of the year according to the Associated Press.
The dispute is over the funding of a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.
While President Trump and most congressional Republicans are demanding the funding as part of a government spending bill, most congressional Democrats oppose it.
