Two Dead After Multi-State Car Chase

Two people are reportedly dead after a shooting and car jacking started in Jefferson City last (Tuesday) night and then led police on a multi-state car chase.

According to reports from ABC 17 news the incident started as a carjacking and possible parental abduction in Jefferson City.

The Bond County Sheriff’s Department and Illinois State Police say the suspect is now dead, after the suspect allegedly shot at officers during the chase however police do not know it it was from returned fire or self inflicted.

One other person is reportedly dead after the suspect shot and killed a driver while attempting to hijack a vehicle.

Stop sticks were used on the vehicle on Illinois Route 140 near Bond and Madison County.
