Blair Oaks School District With Two Ballot Questions On Tuesday
Voters in the Blair Oaks R-II school district will be asked two ballot questions on Tuesday, April 2nd.
Proposition 3 asks voters to authorize the district to borrow fourteen million dollars in bonds to fund the construction of a new high school.
According to school officials in the district a new high school is key to relieving overcrowding and expanding school services.
Proposition 4 will ask to raise the district’s operating tax levy by 30 cents, to $3.05 per one hundred dollars of assessed value.
The extra money will go to fund additional staff positions required at the new building.
The bond issue needs a four-sevenths majority to pass, while the tax questions requires a simple majority.
