One Arrested After Ashland Police Chase

Ashland Police arrested a 19 year old following a police chase yesterday [Monday] following a police chase.

Caleb LaBarbera allegedly broke a large window in the front of the Trading Post pawn shop. When a neighbor tried to intervene in the burglary, LaBarbera left in his car.

The neighbor, fearing for his safety, reported fired one warning shot into the air, then shot at the car hitting it at least twice.

The suspect’s car collided with another car in the parking lot, causing a minor injury to the occupant, who declined medical attention.

The neighbor who fire the gun was hit in the foot by a round from his own gun and was taken to a Columbia hospital.

LaBarbera then drove away from the scene, and was arrested after a brief chase.
