Disturbance At Mexico High School Involving A Gun and Knife
A disturbance involving a gun and a knife at the Mexico High School parking lot yesterday (Wednesday) morning is being reported.
Mexico Public Safety says the disturbance took place around 11:40 as some summer school students were leaving campus and involved both students and parents.
Mexico High School Staff found one of the students brought a knife to school and one of the students brought a handgun.
Both of the students were taken into custody by Mexico Public Safety.
The student who brought the knife was processed and their is not being released with formal charges pending.
The student who brought the gun is being identified by public safety as 18 year old Jaiden L. Hawkins of Mexico.
He was arrested and taken to the Audrain County Jail. No injuries reported from the incident.
