Cole County Authorities Searching For A Man Connected With Human Skeletal Remains Being Found

Analysis and identification of a nearly complete human skeleton found in Cole County last week is ongoing at the University of Missouri Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Cole County Sheriff’s Office found the human remains on Thursday after a Cole County Jail inmate told authorities where a body was buried.

Authorities searched a home in the 2700 block of Bess Hill Road and a cadaver dog alerted them to human remains in the area.

The inmate told police he helped Sandy Ray Gallaspie bury the body of Jon Williams after Gallaspie allegedly shot the person in the chest and drug him from a car driven by his ex-wife, Suzanne J. Ponder according to court records.

Authorities are asking for assistance from the public in locating Sandy Gallaspie who is described as a 58 year old white male and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cole County Sheriff’s Department.
