Fulton Schools Looking At Renovations For Elementary Schools
The Fulton Board of Education is looking at renovations as an alternative to building a new elementary school.
The board members went over several different options this week to balance the school district.
One option talked about last year was building a new elementary school, however now renovating existing schools is becoming part of the discussion.
According to Superintendent Dr. Jacque Cowherd, the district is in need of 8 classrooms to balance out the schools.
Cowerd says they are hoping to get a list together this fall in hopes of presenting a bond issue to voters next year.
An new school building is estimated to cost over thirty one million dollars, when compared to renovations that would cost over 21 million dollars.
