Missouri Task Force One Deployed To Help With Hurricane Dorian

Missouri Task Force 1 is being deployed to Jacksonville, Florida ahead of Hurricane Dorian.

A team of 45 people were sent last (Friday) night and will have an emphasis on water rescues.

The team is taking 6 boats.

46 utility workers from 9 Missouri Cities, including Columbia, Hannibal, Hermann and Rolla will also leave for Orlando, Florida this (Saturday) morning to respond to possible power outages.

The forecast calls for Dorian to reach the Florida coast near Melbourne on Tuesday, but does not bring the center of the storm over mainland Florida, instead it moves along the coast northward toward Jacksonville.
