Turkey Vulture Causes Power Outages On MU Campus

A turkey vulture is to blame for a power outage at several University of Missouri campus buildings yesterday (Wednesday) morning.

According to spokesperson for the University, it happened just before seven when the bird landed on an electric pole and its wing hit a connector.

Power was off to twenty eight buildings and three parking garages for around an hour.

The MU Power Plant will generate power for the campus, until the connector can be fixed by the end of the week.

The turkey vulture did not survive.
