Small Earthquake In Southeast Missouri

A small earthquake in southeastern Missouri on Saturday is being reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey the magnitude 3.0 earthquake happened just before 8 am and was centered at 2.7 miles southwest of Lilbourn.

The New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office says there were no reports of injuries or damage.

The survey reports at least 4 earthquakes measuring 4.5 magnitude or greater have occurred in the zone since 1974.
