Public Invited To Paint Boone County Bicentennial Mural In Centralia

The public will have a chance to paint the Centralia part of the Boone County Bicentennial mural this Saturday, December 7th.

The mural painting will happen between 9 and noon at the Friendship Place, at 110 North Rollins in Centralia.

Local artist Stacy Self is creating a large mural in the shape of Boone County depicting 200 years of Boone County history.

The mural is divided into pieces, each representing distinct geographic sections of the county.

Members of each community in Boone County can paint their own portion of the mural, and after all pieces are complete, they will be joined to form the map of Boone County which will be on display during 2020 in the Boone County History and Culture Center.
