Dog Dies In Jefferson City House Fire

An improperly installed and maintained wood burning stove the cause of a fire at a Jefferson City house last (Tuesday) night.

Jefferson City Fire Department went to the 900 block of Jackson Street after a neighbor reported the fire.

The house was under renovation and no one was living in the residence.

2 dogs were inside, one was found hiding in the attic and was reunited with its owners, the second dog was found and did not survive.
