Truman State University Professor Arrested For Patronizing Prostitution

A Truman State University professor in Kirksville is suspended after being arrested for a misdemeanor count of patronizing prostitution.

According to court records university police received a tip that 57 year old, Barry Cole Poyner had been harassing male Truman students for sexual contact as well as offering to pay for items for sexual favors by the using the app Grindr.

An undercover officer with the Kirksville Police Department set up a profile on the app and Poyner later allegedly arranged a meeting with a the officer.

Poyner was arrested after fleeing from the gas station where the meeting was reportedly setup.

Poyner is scheduled to be in court on January 8th.
