Hundreds Without Power In Columbia On Friday Afternoon

Power now restored to hundreds of people in Columbia after a truck hit a utility pole near Paris Road and College Avenue yesterday afternoon causing an outage.

The outage was reported just after 2pm.

Columbia Water and Light posted on its Facebook page crews were out restoring power and rebuilding the damaged pole in icy, wet conditions near high-voltage lines and were trying to do so as quickly and safely as possible.

The power was restored around 7 last night.
