Two Arrested In Burglaries in Audrain, Boone, and Callaway Counties
Multiple burglaries in three counties lead to two arrests.
According to the Audrain County Sheriff’s Department, five burglaries in December in southwest Audrain County were reported in a span of three weeks.
The first four reports involved the same victim in which firearms, power tools and a pickup were stolen.
The fifth burglary was reported in the area by another victim where power tools and another pickup were stolen.
During the Audrain County investigations, it was discovered that Boone and Callaway Counties were working similar incidents in the same area.
On December 22nd, an Audrain deputy saw one of the stolen vehicles being driven in the area and after a short pursuit, the driver was contacted.
Deputies found stolen items from the burglaries in the truck, along with illegal narcotics.
The driver, 21-year old Jacob A. Campbell of Mexico, was arrested on an outstanding Audrain County warrant for failure to appear on drug charges.
He remains in jail on a $5,000 cash-only bond and formal charges for the burglary and theft cases are pending.
The second pickup was recovered abandoned in Boone County.
On Christmas Eve, Audrain, Boone, and Callaway County Sheriff’s members served a search warrant at an address on Remie Road outside Centralia.
During the search, stolen firearms, tools, and other items were located.
24-year old Austin Creason of rural Centralia was arrested on January 15th for burglary, stealing, and armed criminal action.
He remains in the Audrain County Jail without bond.
