Jefferson City Council Moving Forward With High Street Buildings Demolition
The Jefferson City Council is moving forward with plans to demolish buildings at 200 East High Street and a neighboring building at 202 East High Street.
Since June of last year (2018), 200 East High Street has been empty after a partial collapse of its wall.
After being cited as dangerous since then, the city and property owners have tried to work on what option is best for the property and who is responsible for costs.
A demolition company estimated the cost to be almost two hundred thousand dollars.
The agreement of how much the city and the owner will pay is currently under closed record.
