Sturgeon Truck Driver Makes Plea In Indiana Court
The Sturgeon truck driver who is accused of causing a crash that killed three people in Indiana is pleading guilty.
According to court records 57 year old Bruce Pollard made the plea in an Indiana courtroom last week on Friday.
The crash happened on Interstate 465 last July.
Pollard changed his plea to guilty, but mentally ill.
He is charged with 3 counts of reckless homicide, one count of reckless operation of a vehicle in a highway work zone and 7 counts of reckless driving.
State police say, Pollard did not slow down when approaching traffic in a construction zone and crashed his semi-truck into 7 cars, including one driven by mother, Alanna Koons and her 18 month old twin daughters who were killed in the crash.
He could be sentenced to between 3 and 9 years in prison, and is scheduled to be sentenced on March 27th.
