Staff For Life Helicopter With Emergency Landing In Randolph County
No injuries after a Staff for Life helicopter had to make an emergency landing in Randolph County last (Wednesday) night.
The helicopter was going from Kirksville to Columbia to transport a patient around 6:40 according to a spokesperson for the Randolph County ambulance district.
The helicopter was having mechanical issues when it landed in a field near Highway 63, with 4 passengers on board, including one patient.
The helicopter’s landing gear is broken and the tail is bent.
Another helicopter from MU Health Care went to the scene and transported the patient who is in stable condition.
Officials from the Federal Aviation and National Transportation Safety Board will be investigating this (Thursday) morning.
According to the FAA database, the helicopter is over forty years old.
