MO Department of Labor on Unemployment Checks

Some people who applied for unemployment will be getting their $600 federal pandemic unemployment payment this week according to the Missouri Department of Labor.

The money is a federal supplement to unemployment benefits from the state for the next 4 months.

Missouri Department of Labor has not given an estimation on when independent contractors will see their benefits.

On its website, the department says they received guidance from the Federal Department of Labor on those who were not eligible for regular unemployment on April 5th and will need more time to effectively set-up programming to implement the new federal law.

Over two hundred thousand Missourians have applied for unemployment benefits since the middle of March with 84 percent of those claims related to COVID-19.
