Jefferson City Man Charged in Officer Involved Shooting

A Jefferson City man is now charged following a vehicle pursuit, foot chase and officer involved shooting that happened on Wednesday night.

27 year old Jamie T. Williams was charged in a Cole County Circuit Court yesterday with second degree murder from perpetration of a felony, resisting with an arrest for a felony, felony driving while revoked suspended and possession of marijuana.

Williams is being held at the Cole County Jail and the court denied bond.

During the incident officers were in contact with a passenger in Williams’ vehicle, 28 year old Anthony J. Wilson of Jefferson City, who exchanged gunfire with police, and Wilson was killed and an officer sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Williams was found hiding in an overgrown area after the vehicle pursuit.
