North Callaway School District Announces Plans For Middle School

North Callaway is announcing plans for a middle school starting next year.

The board of education voted unanimously last week to execute the first phase of the district’s Future Vision plan, citing aging buildings and unbalanced student distributions.

The district will re-purpose the Auxvasse Elementary School, turning it into a middle school.

The building will be named the North Callaway Middle School, taking in all 6th through 8th grade students.

A letter was sent to parents last week by district superintendent Nicky Kemp saying a big reason for the plan is space saying some schools are overcrowded, with students stuck learning in trailers.
