Columbia Regional Airport Expansion Bond Approved

A Columbia Regional Airport expansion bond now has approval.

Columbia City Council members voted unanimously at their meeting last night to approve a tax exempt bond to finance a new airport terminal, among some other improvements.

According to city officials the project is estimated to cost 26.6 million dollars, with over half of the project to be paid for with the bonds.

The bonds can be paid for over a 15 year period and the money will come from a hotel and lodging tax approved by voters.
