Man Accused of Coughing at Callaway County Deputies in Order to Spread COVID-19

A man is facing multiple charges after being arrested in Callaway County after reportedly intentionally coughing toward deputies and saying he had COVID-19.

According to a press release from the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies were investigating a burglary last week in the area of County Road 261 and arrested 50 year old Anthony Dick, for numerous felony charges.

During the arrest Dick allegedly resisted and a deputy received a minor injury.

While deputies were taking the man to the Callaway County Jail, he reportedly coughed purposefully toward the arresting deputies, and Dick showed desire for the deputies and their families to be harmed by COVID-19 as a result.

He remains in the Callaway County Jail with a court-set bond of twenty thousand dollars.
