Columbia City Council to Vote on Temporary Housing for First Responders

The Columbia City Council is expected to vote tonight on a resolution that would give temporary housing for first responders during the coronavirus pandemic.

The resolution would authorize an agreement and give Columbia Police Department and the Columbia Fire Department first responders the option to stay at Stephens College should they need to.

Stephens College has designated certain dorms for the housing.

The agreement is set to expire June 1st, however the resolution would give Columbia city manager John Glascock, the ability to extend the agreement with compliance from Stephens College.
