New Boone County Reopening Plans Announced

New Boone County health orders are being announced amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The orders announced yesterday by Boon County and Columbia leaders go into effect on Tuesday, May 26th at midnight.

Under these new orders, businesses will be able to reopen at 50% capacity.

Most retail businesses will not actually be able to have that many customers until June 1st due to state orders limiting occupancy being in effect through May 31st, and that supercedes the county’s new orders.

Restaurants and bars can have up to fifty seating capacity.

Hair and nail salons can operate at 50% capacity or a total of 25 people.

Sports are also allowed to resume, though contact sports are not allowed for the time being, with spectators limited to 50 people or fewer.
