Homes Being Built By Jail Inmates

One-bedroom homes will be built by jail inmates and sold in 3 states including Missouri.

The Aspire Partnership Small Homes Program kicked off yesterday (Thursday).

It is an effort of the North East Community Action Corporation, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department and the St. Louis Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship Program.

Residents in Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa will be able to purchase the homes for about $37,000 through the North East Community Action Corporation.

The houses will be built at the Lincoln County Jail’s Inmate Training Center.
