Storms Cause Flash Flooding in Jefferson City

A severe thunderstorm moving through Jefferson City yesterday (Sunday) is the cause of flash flooding and calls for help from the Jefferson City Fire Department.

The Jefferson City Fire Department says they went to at least 25 incidents yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.

Nine of the calls were related to multiple victims removed from vehicles that had stalled in flash flood waters.

In addition to the flash flood incidents the Jefferson City Fire Department went to calls of power lines down.

According to the department multiple families were displaced from apartments on East McCarty Street and Christopher Place.

Some homes were also flooded on East Elm and Bald Hill.
