MU Not Outsourcing Custodial Services This Academic Year

The University of Missouri has decided not to outsource custodial work for now.

According to a news release sent out yesterday (Thursday) MU originally considered outsourcing custodial work when they experienced budget issues during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the release, bids for outsourcing showed a potential three million dollars in savings, however the University has decided to stay with it’s current labor union for this academic year.

The university says it has lost thirty five million dollars in state revenue since COVID-19 started.
