Thirteen Million Dollars in Budget Cuts Recommended for Upcoming Fiscal Year

Thirteen million dollars in budget cuts are being recommended for the City of Columbia for the upcoming fiscal year that starts October 1st.

Columbia City Manager John Glascock made the recommendations yesterday (Friday) and says COVID-19 forced him to recommend the cuts.

Glascock also introduced a new partnership between the police and health department as part of his 456 million dollar budget proposal.

Columbia City Council members planned to have a full-day work session on the budget proposal on August 13th and will adopt their final budget during their meeting on September 21st.
