Protestors Arrested Near State Capitol Building

Multiple protestors are facing charges of unlawful assembly and resisting or interfering with an arrest after gathering in Jefferson City near the capitol building yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.

Jefferson City Police say they responded to the 100 block of East High Street because people were in the roadway blocking the intersection of Jefferson Street and Capitol Avenue.

8 protestors were arrested.

The group was protesting over Black Lives Matter and police brutality.

According to Jefferson City Police of the 8 people arrested only one was a local resident.
