Vandalia Board of Alderman Vote to Contract Out Police Services
The City of Vandalia will be contracting out their police services to the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office Department starting in January of 2021.
Around 40 people were at the Vandalia Board of Alderman meeting Tuesday where they voted unanimously to turn over their police services to Audrain County.
Vandalia will pay Audrain County $326,342.92 annually.
Vandalia city administrator Darren Berry says the contract guarantee’s 24 hour coverage.
Berry says they could start using police services from the Audrain County Sheriff’s Department sooner than January 1st, as current Vandalia police offices start looking for other employment.
