Columbia City Council Extends COVID-19 Ordinance

The Columbia City Council is extending the city’s COVID-19 ordinance for three weeks after vote was taken during a meeting last night (Tuesday).

The council is also urging for further and more aggressive enforcement on Columbia’s virus prevention efforts.

The ordinance includes mandated face coverings in public spaces and early closures for bars and restaurants.

As of yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon Boone County reported 1,055 active coronavirus cases, with cases in the age 18 to 22 range surging since students returned to MU’s campus.
