The Mexico Bulldogs football team will make a trip to St. Charles County to face the Orchard Farm Eagles tonight (Friday).

The Bulldogs come into the game 1-0, while Orchard Farm is 2-0.

Kickoff is at 7pm.

Other week 3 games include Centralia on the road at Brookfield.

Capital City will host Hickman.

The Hannibal Pirates play their home opener against Ft. Zumwalt West.

Monroe City is on the road at South Shelby.

North Callaway is at home facing Clopton-Elsberry.

Southern Boone takes on Boonville.

The Paris Coyotes are at home against Scotland County.

In softball last night (Thursday) the Mexico Bulldogs girls softball defeated the Hannibal Pirates in their home opener 7-1.

The game was moved to the newly turfed Green Field due to weather conditions.

Alexis Willer had a multi-hit game.

Brooke Teel scored 2 runs.

And starting pitcher Jordyn Thurman threw a complete game with no earned runs and knocked in 2 RBI at the plate.

Mexico is now 6-2 and take on the Centralia Panthers on Tuesday on the road.

The Kansas City Chiefs opened the first game of the NFL season with a 34-20 win over the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium last night (Thursday).

Patrick Mahomes threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns, while rookie Clyde Edwards-Helair ran for 138 yards and a score.

Kansas City will next play on Sunday, September 20th on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Royals 24 year old rookie Brady Singer nearly no-hit the Indians in just his ninth big league start.

Singer carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning with 2 outs, when Indians catcher Austin Hedges spoiled the party with a it into right field.
