Boone County COVID-19 Positivity Rates in Error

Columbia Boone County Public Health and Human Services is reporting an error in positivity rates for the county, stretching back to May.

In a release today (Tuesday), the agency says the error stems from a “complex data extraction issue” between MU Health Care’s electronic medical record contractor and the state’s Department of Health and Senior Services.

According to the release, there was no delay in positive test results and all patients were notified of test results in a timely manner.

The positivity rate determines whether the spread of the virus is improving or not.

In a graph provided with the press release, the positivity rate for the week of September 4th through the 10th is 24.1%.
