KWWR Sports Report 9/22

The Mexico Bulldogs girls softball team picked up a conference and shutout 15-0 win over the Marshall Owls at Gallop Field last night (Monday).

Jordyn Thurman threw a no hitter.

Abby Oetting, Kierstan Epperson, Abby Bellamy, Riley Thurman and Jordyn Thurman all had multiple RBI.

The Lady Dogs improved to 9-7 overall and will have another North Central Missouri Conference game tonight at Gallop Field against the Moberly Spartans.

The Mexico Cross Country team traveled to Fulton on Saturday to compete in the Fulton Triangular against Fulton and North Callaway.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost 4-1 to the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium last night (Monday).

Matt Carpenter provided the Redbirds only offense with a solo home run in the second inning.

The loss snapped the Cardinals 4 game winning streak and put them back in a tie with the Cincinnati Reds for second place in the NL Central.

Missouri Tigers Head Coach Eli Drinkwitz received a commitment for the 2022 recruiting class yesterday (Monday).

Max Whisner, a three star tight end from Lee’s Summit announced his commitment to Mizzou on Twitter.

He is from the same high school as Drew Lock.

Whisner ranked as the 24th best tight end in the country and the 14th best player in the state of Missouri according to Rivals.com.
